A very warm welcome to issue one of Between Worlds Zine. It is our absolute thrill to introduce you to five writers, one debuting here, each of whom having peered beyond our world and returned to tell the tale.
Between Worlds has been in the works for a while, so it’s baffling to think that our first issue is finally in your hands. While some unexpected circumstances necessitated a slight delay in publication, we are thrilled by the response we’ve already had from both writers and supporters alike. We received a startling number of submissions for this first issue, and while we chose to publish only four of our five short stories (plus one flash story), we think you’ll find those accepted to be widely varied in almost every way.
Peek through the veil with us. A scholar will do just about anything to discover the secret to magic, including torturing the innocent. An IT engineer begins a new job, but finds his new employer’s creative problem solving to be somewhat out of this world. A young boy discovers a skeleton buried in a shallow grave, changing his world forever.
We hope that you’ll enjoy what you find here, and tell your friends where to find us. For those seeking to contribute to our second issue, you can find all the info you need on our submit page. We have some big things planned for the future of Between Worlds Zine, so keep your eyes peeled to the editor’s blog in the coming months for announcements.
I hope to see you beyond the veil.
